Information Processed by the Extension
When you choose to export, the extension processes content from your active Claude session, including conversation text, conversation metadata, and optional attachments selected for export. This processing is required to create the ZIP archive you requested.
Local Extension Data
The extension stores limited settings and state in your browser using chrome.storage.local, such as onboarding completion, panel position, export count, and user preferences. This information remains on your device.
No Developer Collection or Sale of Data
Claude Chat Exporter does not send your Claude conversations, attachments, exported files, settings, or usage state to the developer. The extension does not sell, rent, transfer, or share user data with third parties.
No Remote Code
The extension does not use remote executable code. All extension code is bundled in the submitted Chrome extension package.
Permissions
The extension requests access to claude.ai so it can read the Claude content you choose to export. It also uses activeTab, scripting, and storage permissions to open the in-page panel and store local extension preferences.
Data Retention and Control
Exported ZIP files are saved to your computer through your browser. Local extension state can be cleared from the extension options page or by removing the extension from Chrome.
